How to oil your hair?

Oiling the hair is an ancient practice that has been used to strengthen and moisturize hair, and many believe it’s an important step for making sure your strands get a good balance of vitamins. Certain oils made for the scalp can be very nourishing, reducing dryness, itchiness, and flakiness, and giving your scalp and hair follicles nutrients, stimulating hair growth, and amplifying overall scalp health.

Oiling hair has several benefits for hair growth, including:

Increased tensile strength: Oiling hair helps to increase the tensile strength of the hair, reducing the likelihood of breakage and damage. This is especially important for people who use heat styling tools or have hair that is prone to tangling.

Reduced frizz and prevention of breakage: Oiling hair forms a protective layer on the hair shaft, which helps to prevent frizz and breakage. This is especially important for people with curly or wavy hair, as it can help to define curls and reduce frizz.

Improved scalp health: Oiling the scalp can help to improve scalp health by reducing dryness, itchiness, and flakiness. This can help to promote a healthy environment for hair growth.

Stimulation of hair growth: Oiling the scalp can help to stimulate hair growth by increasing blood circulation to the scalp. This can help to promote hair growth and reduce the appearance of thinning hair.

Moisturizing and hydrating: Oiling hair helps to moisturize and hydrate the hair, leaving it soft, shiny, and manageable. This can help to reduce the appearance of dryness and brittleness.

Protection from damage: Oiling hair can help to protect it from damage caused by heat styling tools, sun exposure, and other environmental factors.

Promoting healthy hair follicles: Oiling the scalp can help to promote healthy hair follicles, which can help to promote hair growth and reduce the appearance of thinning hair.

Reducing dandruff and itchiness: Oiling the scalp can help to reduce dandruff and itchiness by reducing inflammation and promoting a healthy scalp environment.

Improving hair elasticity: Oiling hair can help to improve hair elasticity, making it less prone to breakage and more resistant to damage.

Promoting hair growth: Oiling the scalp can help to promote hair growth by providing essential nutrients and vitamins to the hair follicles.

To oil your hair for hair growth, follow these steps:

Massage your scalp: Massaging your scalp increases blood circulation, which promotes hair growth. Use your fingertips to massage the oil into your scalp in a circular motion.

Choose the right oil: Select an oil that suits your hair type and needs. Some oils, such as coconut oil, olive oil, and jojoba oil, are rich in nutrients and can nourish your hair. Others, like rosemary oil and thyme oil, have anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties that can promote hair growth. Use scalp oil only to scalp and hair oil to ends of the hair. True scalp oils usually have blood circulating plants in to activate and stimulate hair growth.

Apply the oil: Section your hair and apply the scalp oil to your scalp and massage it in. Use only a few drops of oil in each hair section. Do not over use the oil otherwise it is only waste of the oil and it is hard to wash the oil off afterwards. Also apply the hair oil to the ends of your hair to keep them moisturized and hydrated. Use only few drops of oils to ends as well.

Leave it on: Leave the oil on for 2 hours.

Shampoo and condition: Wash your hair with a sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner to remove the oil and any impurities. Wash two times if needed.

Repeat regularly: Repeat the process regularly to see results. It’s recommended to oil your hair 1-2 times a week for best results.

Some additional tips to keep in mind:

Use a warm oil: Warm oil is more easily absorbed into the hair and scalp, making it more effective for hair growth.

Avoid using too much oil: Using too much oil can weigh your hair down and make it look greasy. Start with a small amount and adjust as needed.

Be patient: Hair growth is a slow process, and it may take time to see results. Be patient and consistent with your oiling routine.

Combine with other hair care practices: Oiling your hair can be even more effective when combined with other hair care practices, such as regular exercise, eating nutritional rich food and meditation.
